What’s Next? - In Conclusion

What’s Next? Know God Find Freedom Discover a Purpose Make a Difference Making a Difference Many years ago C.T. Studd coined this phrase , “Only one life twill soon be passed, only what’s done for Christ will last”. When I was a young boy, I read that phrase on a plaque hanging on a wall in the back of the church where I grew up. That phrase has stayed with me all of my life, and until recently I had no idea of its history. So, the other day as I thought about “Making a Difference” I decided to look up the origin of that quote. In doing so, I learned about C.T. Studd. He was a missionary to China, giving his life to make a difference for Christ. He was born in 1860 and died in 1931. His life still speaks today through the impressions, inspirational quotes and life imprints he made upon others. I want to be like that, I want to “Make a Difference” . In Chris Hodges book, “What’s Next?” I found this quote …”The purpose of life is to discover your gift...the meaning...

Purpose, Passion, Provision

Purpose, Passion, Provision But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 ESV Here is an astounding fact… God, our Heavenly Father, created you on Purpose for a Purpose! God loves you so much that He blessed you with Purpose even before you were born! In the Old Testament, the Psalmist explains that before you were even born God blessed you by knitting you together in your mother’s womb. He formed your inward parts as you were fearfully and wonderfully made. (My paraphrase, Psalm 139:13-14) God made you on Purpose for a Purpose! In a single verse found in 1 Peter 2:9, there are at least five things you can be sure of. 1.)   You are chosen 2.)   You are a royal priesthood 3.)   You are a holy nation 4.)   You are God’s possessi...

What’s Next? - Know God

What’s Next? Know God All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,   that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 Knowing God is the only way to be complete. We know that the only way to Know God is to know His Word. All scripture is breathed by God and inspired by the Holy Spirit. He completes and equips believers for every good work. So, to Know God , to be complete, to be equipped, we must start with His Word. In Revelation, Christ is referred to as the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. (Revelation 22:13) Christ is complete, then we become complete only by knowing Him. We need to know His Word! In our fast paced and ever changing world, what if “Going Back” was the best thing for moving forward? Going back to the days before the internet, cell phones, texting, Facebook, etc. Going back to a simpler time whe...

What's Next?

What’s Next ? Have you ever asked yourself that question? The Bible has a lot to say about What’s Next…   And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.   So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates.   Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” Matthew 24:31-35 If you watch, listen, or read the news, you know that things are happening fast! According to scripture, it certainly seems that the Rapture of the Church is imminent. The time is near! The question is, are you ready for What’s Next? Here are three things to consider: ...
