Immanuel

“Immanuel” “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,   and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). Matthew 1:23 Christmas songs have been around for decades, even centuries. But, occasionally one comes upon the scene that really makes an impact. That’s how I felt the first time I heard the Christmas carol, “What Child is This?”. Over the years I have learned to love that song even more, and especially during the holidays. It reminds us all of the significance of who Christ is. Today, I want to ask you, “Who is He to you”? We know who He is. The Bible describes him as “God with us” . I learned the meaning of the word Immanuel as a small boy in Sunday School. My teacher’s name was Brother Clemmeth Layman. He probably forgot about teaching Sunday School that particular   day, but to a small boy he made the word Immanuel come alive!
