“Don’t Touch Your Face!”
What?!!
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help
in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea. Psalm 46:1-2

You’ve been hearing about
coronavirus. Today I read another story about the global outbreak of this
dangerous and scary threat to us all. From what I read today, the World Health Organization
has declared
the coronavirus outbreak a global “pandemic”. Then, I keep hearing health experts
telling me to wash my hands and not to touch my face!
If you’re human like
me, you may be thinking…Ok, I’m in a pandemic! I can’t find any hand sanitizer,
paper towels, or toilet paper at Wal-Mart, and then they tell me not to touch
my face! Do you know how hard it is to go through the day, or even through a minute,
without touching your face? It’s virtually impossible it seems. Can you imagine
hearing about someone dying and someone asking, “What happened to them?” and
the answer was, “He died from touching his face!”
Oh my goodness,
things are getting crazy! But I’m not finished yet…when I heard today that they
were declaring
this virus outbreak a pandemic, as a born again, blood washed, Spirit-filled
believer, I’m reminded of something someone else “Declared” a long time
ago…
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and
not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
Here’s something else
I remembered that God “Declared…”
He who dwells
in the shelter of the Most High will abide
in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and
my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you
from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He
will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings, you
will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You
will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at
noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but
it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the
recompense of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—the
Most High, who is my refuge—no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no
plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:1-11
While the coronavirus
seems to be threating the entire world, infecting and scaring people in its
wake…Our God is Greater. Our God is Bigger. Our God is Stronger. Our God is
Able. He is able to deliver, able to protect, and able to heal.
A
thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. Psalm
91:7
End time prophecy
teaches that our days will be filled with pestilance. The world will experience
earthquakes, famines, and pestilence in various and unusual places, but Jesus
says, “Don’t panic, just be ready, I am coming soon.” This is the same Jesus
that declared,
“He would never leave us or forsake us.”
The world might declare
a pandemic, I declare Jesus!
Yes, I will be wise
and listen to the health care officials and those in governing power over me. I
may go to Wal-Mart and try to get some hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and Lysol…who
knows, I might even touch my own face and not panic! (Smile)
We are people that
God has called to be effective in ministry, and to use some common sense. Moreover,
we are called to live by faith and not in fear. Let’s touch the face of God,
believing for safety, favor, and blessing.
I
will bless the Lord at
all times; his praise
shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1
Many
are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
Psalm 34:19
“Be
still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
”The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
