Evangelism
“The Heartbeat of God”
Did
you ever think about “Evangelism” as
being the Heartbeat of God?
From
Genesis to Revelation, scripture speaks to a special calling known as “Evangelism”. The Bible teaches us that
“God is love” and we know His love to be for every human being on the planet. No
prejudice or exclusion in His offer of New
Life!
We
know the story of God’s heart through the outline in John 3:16…
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
It is not in God’s heart for any to perish, so He
created “Evangelism”, which is the
very Heartbeat
of God, letting the world know that Jesus came to save the world from
sin. Jesus called His disciples and said, “Follow
me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19). This is “Evangelism”. God’s love carried out
through believers, through those who decide to love and follow Jesus, making
disciples. Telling the good news, and leading others to Christ.
Yes, this is God’s great plan of multiplication,
this is “Evangelism”!
And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole
creation. Whoever
believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does
not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:15-16
As believers, we have some
work to do! It is the greatest mission anyone could ever be assigned to. This
is “Evangelism”, spreading the good
news of Jesus Christ!
The etymology of “Evangelism” can be traced back to the
original Greek meaning…
”I bring a message”.
Who is it that God has laid
upon your heart? “Evangelism”, the
good news, the message we are all called to share with others. This is “Evangelism”.
I challenge you to get
involved today. Do not let another day go by without fulfilling your call to “Evangelism”. The time is near, the
signs are evident, the fig tree is blooming, and people need to know. When you
see these things, know that the rapture of the church is imminent and God has
called us to “Bring a Message”.
But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels
of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of
Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before
the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,
until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the
flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of
Man. Then two
men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. Two women will be
grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. Therefore, stay
awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. Matthew
24:36-42
